I love details.  Details make life interesting, right? As far as weddings go, they make that “once in a lifetime moment”, special and significant.  We were lucky enough to work with a wonderful couple and the Bride’s Mom to develop and create the warm atmosphere and memories of family and friends for their wedding day.

It’s hard not to fall in love all over again with so many newly-engaged couples coming to the store to look at wedding invitations!

Tips of the week

Stationery ( the paper kind) is spelled with an “e” as in envelopes.

Stationary (not moving)  is spelled with an “a” as in car!

Writing a thank you note is not only good manners and lets people know that you are thoughtful, but it might just land you the perfect job or get you into the school of your dreams!

~After an interview, be sure to write a thank you note immediately, and specifically thank the person for their time. If more than one person interviewed you, then you must send a thank you note to each person.

~Be very careful to spell names correctly including the address and the place where you are applying. If in doubt – Google it!

~Remember The 50-50-90 rule: Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there’s a 90% probability you’ll get it wrong. ~ Andy Rooney

Choose the right stationery for the job!

~When writing a personal note, be sure to use the person’s name and if you are thanking them for something, mention what you are thanking them for. Be specific and genuine.

So spend the time to get it right!

In business, if you use stationery that is personalized with your name on it, even if the note gets put to the side, it will always remind them who you are…that’s something that in business will give you a real advantage and personally will be a warm reminder of your graciousness!

There are so many styles of stationery to choose from.  Typically, men use flat correspondence cards and women use folded note cards for their stationery of choice, although you are free to choose any style you enjoy and are more comfortable using.  I personally prefer flat correspondence cards.

Choosing the printing method for your stationery is a matter of what you prefer, how much your are willing to pay and convenience.  As far as expense and convenience, Stationery that is engraved, letterpressed or embossed is going to be more expensive, needs to be ordered from a professional printer like  Soiree, Andover and is also more impressive.  If you really love raised print and don’t want to spend too much, then thermography is the way to go with digitally printed stationery being the most affordable and can usually be available quickly.

Choose your personal stationery carefully keeping in mind the purpose.  Sending a thank you note to a friend for a gift he gave you can reflect your personality and be more fun and playful than the stationery you would use to send an interviewer for a professional position.  Keep this style more conservative.

Well this is the first post in months…

Lazy no, super busy…YES!  Wedding season was incredible but wow, it’s almost the Holidays! October is just around the corner and today, although rainy, really feels like fall.  Heck, I just baked my first batch of pumpkin bread and just wanted to enjoy a piece in front of the fire! But not yet, it’s only September…

So with pumpkin bread in hand, I thought we’d help you out a little with your Holiday Card sending and gift giving this year with this new post.  We have some favorites that’ll help get you all in the mood…

These cornucopias and surprize balls (yes, that’s how they spell them) are so much fun to give and to receive.  You unwrap and unwrap until you get a little novelty under each layer…truly fun and delightfully whimsical.  Adults love them even more than kids do…go figure.  Use them for birthdays, graduations, bridal showers and just because you want to see someone smile!

Use them at the holidays…one at each place setting!  Watch them all just roll with laughter and have some good, old fashioned fun.

And last but not least, beautiful flour sack dish towels.  They’re big and incredibly absorbent. Love, love, love and the perfect hostess gift too.

They pair beautifully with our new paper napkins and taper candles…
