“The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.” – Oprah Winfrey
It’s been a long hard winter and what better way to celebrate Spring than with a party?! The “Spruce up for Spring” event was a big hit! Good friends, fun and lots of great advice on how to look and feel fantastic as Spring approaches. I feel so inspired I may just clean out a cupboard or two and go for that long walk I’ve been meaning to take!
Our friends that helped make it a great night from the left…Susan Kanoff, Alicia Moskal, Sylvia Sasso, Me, Karen Mansur and Maureen Campaiola.
With gorgeous European style flowers from Les Fleurs who also handle rentals including linens and table settings… and “really yummy” magnificent Red velvet and Limoncello cupcakes from La Rosa, both in Andover, how could we go wrong? We just love these guys!
Don’t the cupcakes look great on our Le Cadeaux melamine table- ware? The beautiful new colors for spring look great by the pool or on the deck.
Lovely group of ladies all coming together to learn something new to look and feel great! Can’t wait until we do this again. Mmm…what should we do next time? I can feel recipes for summer or maybe something to do with chocolate!
I love words. Words express how we feel and many words can stay with us forever. Words give us direction, are used as expression and can transmit any message. The style of writing also says something about the writer as does the use of language. The written word is particularly beautiful to me and is evident everywhere.
On our last trip to Paris, most of the words we saw were in another language but still – so striking. This Metro sign is very French! The beautiful lamp on the top of the sign is particularly lovely too. You can’t help but take notice of the style, the color and the font which was used with such intent.
Look at the age of the words on this sign at the Place de la Concorde where Marie Antoinette was executed…yet they are still so significant! Look at the font used and different sizes of font. For such an important sign, the artist used this font intentionally to mark such an important event. It’s interesting how the use of a font can demonstrate the mood and atmosphere of an era.
The use of fonts and shading on this menu board makes it even more palatable and attractive. I needed to go into that restaurant with the beautiful menu!!
And speaking of different languages…how about this sign using the word “Peace”. Plain and simple. One word. Peace. In many different languages. Means so much but just one word…Beautiful isn’t it? And what a view!
The art of writing beautifully is a lost art indeed, but has obvious, lingering beauty and when used well, reminds us that we are all capable of creating such beauty everyday using our own unique style.
It makes you look sharp!
Writing to your prospective employer after an interview is a must and considered very good manners indeed. It could land you the job more than a great resume…
No matter what style your calligraphy, sending a hand-written thank you after any interview shows that you took the time to appreciate the interview and that you are considerate. Today, in this economic climate, with all the competition out there….
YOU MUST FIND WAYS TO STAND OUT!
Make sure your thank you card is personalized with your full name on it NOT YOUR MONOGRAM so that your interviewer will be able to identify it and you immediately when he wants to make that call to hire you!
- RADIATING GOOD KARMA TO ALL THAT ARE GOING FOR INTERVIEWS!
